The Colton Review Literary Magazine Mockup (2021)

This is an early magazine layout project that I did for my advanced typography class back in 2021, where I was tasked with creating eleven pages for my college’s literary art magazine, The Colton Review. I was inspired by looking through the designs of old college and high school yearbooks, and was compelled by some of the dynamic, sharp angular forms that were sometimes present in them. So for this, I wanted to give the look of this magazine a sort of art deco geometric design feel for a sense of class and prestige. In hindsight,I probably would not have used to so much color in the interior pages as as the cost of printing ink on that many pages for that many issues cost would be expensive, but I do feel that all in all, this was a successful exploration of doing a magazine layout for my early junior year.
