Moonlight Soda Company (2020)

This was a part of my first series for a hypothetical company development, Moonlight Soda Company. The thesis of the organization was to present a line of specialized sodas with unique and rich flavors, all with an art-deco and neoclassical aesthetic. The name “Moonlight” came from the brand’s flag-ship “mascot” of sorts, the goddess Artemis, being the first in the line of flavors to come.

I explored different art-deco design ideas, with a large influence coming from stained glass imagery and the advertisement work of Alphonse Mucha, though being more of an art-nouveau artist. I eventually settled on this “pilot’s lapel pin” design idea, as I felt it was sharp and classy enough for the company’s aesthetic and that it would fit the bottling label better across the neck.

I tried to incorporate more geometric design elements evocative of art-deco into each unique lable and carton of the brand. Despite the name “Moonlight” more or less relating to the character of Artemis, I included other gods of the Greek pantheon in a contemporary style to bring the classiness to these neo-classical figures.

As I mentioned, I figured the logo would fit snugly across the neck of the bottle and stay in line with the overall layout of the label design. The colors of each bottle correlate to the palettes I chose for each greek god, but I also incorporated the golden geometic imagery into each piece to make them all seem uniform. I was happy to incorporate more of my illustrative skills into this project.
